When my wife, Patricia, and I began investing in property along the “Forgotten Coast” we were drawn by the beautiful, uncrowded beaches, the warm, sparkling water and the friendly people. Originally from Chicago,I accepted an early retirement after over 30 years in management with AT&T, working in both the domestic and international markets. Our initial investments were in residential and Hawaiian vacation rental property while living and working in Australia in 1986.
Having first discovered the Forgotten Coast in 1993, Patricia and I began investing on St. George Island in 1996 when we purchased a vacation rental home. Since then we have owned numerous properties from Lanark Beach to St. Joe Beach, and have personal experience in the use of both forward and reverse IRS 1031 tax deferred exchanges. We currently reside in Port St. Joe.
